St John’s Court | Newport

St John’s Court is a 100% affordable housing scheme in Rogerstone, Newport, delivering a mix of apartments, houses, bungalows and over-55s accommodation for social rent. The development spans two sites: the northern area provides family housing and apartments, while the southern site focuses on later-living homes arranged around a shared courtyard to create a sociable, community-focused space.

The layout responds sensitively to the site’s topography, with active frontages and good natural surveillance onto existing streets. Mature trees and established landscape features were retained and integrated early in the design process, helping to create a welcoming and well-connected residential environment.

Llys Y Brenin | Abergavenny

Client: Monmouthshire Housing Association

Llys Y Brenin delivers 17 specialist apartments on Old Hereford Road in Abergavenny, comprising 12 retirement homes for residents aged 55+ and five supported living apartments for people with learning disabilities. The scheme occupies a sustainable infill site and was designed to integrate sensitively with the surrounding residential context.

The independent living block provides a mix of one and two-bedroom homes with lift access, parking, alarm systems and dedicated buggy storage. The supported living accommodation is arranged around a communal space with on-site staff facilities. The design was developed through close engagement with the local authority, social services and occupational therapists to ensure safe, high-quality and inclusive homes.

Cei’r Dwyrain

Client: United Welsh & Barratt Homes

Cei’r Dwyrain is a development of 36 affordable apartments at Barry Waterfront, delivered with Barratt Homes on behalf of United Welsh. The scheme provides a mix of two and three-bedroom homes, including older persons and supported housing, all built to EPC-A standard to minimise environmental impact and reduce energy costs for residents. Our role focused on delivering clear, coordinated technical design that supported smooth construction and ensured the scheme met both client aspirations and regulatory requirements. The development contributes to the ongoing regeneration of the waterfront, offering high-quality, energy-efficient homes in a well-connected and sustainable location.
